Certain Hall of Famers allege that users of steroids must never be in their club. They affirm that such baseball players, as Sammy Sosa, Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens should be kept out of the Baseball Hall of Fame. They are very pleased that these sportspersons didn’t receive needed percentage of voting to enter the Hall of Fame. According to them, it is fair. They believe that otherwise our kids will be in confusion. They will believe that they are permitted to use steroids and whatever they want and remain unpunished. So, it would be a bad example for future generations. Al Kaline, Goose Gossage and some others that belong to the Baseball Hall of Fame have this opinion. They even notice about cycling, as a good example to follow.
What happened actually in the world of cycling? The successful American cyclist was accused of using forbidden medicines. As a result, he was stripped of his 7 Tour de France titles and sentenced to life-time ban.
Thus, some Hall of Famers say that cycling is a good example for baseball. Baseball players who are found guilty of doping should be excluded from this sport wholly. Record books must not contain information about success of those that have been caught administering forbidden drugs. Those that have cheated should be punished properly.
Nevertheless, not every member of the Baseball Hall of Fame has this point of view. For example, Juan Marichal supports Barry Bonds, Sammy Sosa, Mark McGwire, Roger Clemens, etc. He affirms that these baseball players should be elected for the Hall of Fame. These players are stars in baseball. No one could prove that they have actually used doping products. Since there is no any proof, suspicions mean nothing.
Under rules connected with voting for the Hall of Fame, baseball players that have great skills and those that have contributed to their teams significantly should be enter the Hall of Fame. Of course, Sammy Sosa, Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens were great players. They made evident contributions to their teams. That’s why they should be in the Hall of Fame.
