The American sportswriter Tom Verducci explains about debates linked with rughts of steroid users to be chosen for the Baseball Hall of Fame. But as it generally happens, this explanation manifests only confusion of journalists about steroids.
The Baseball Writers Association of America (BWAA) is a professional association of baseball reporters who elect players for the National Baseball Hall of Fame. All sportswriters who are members of the BWAA already not less than 10 years have opportunity to vote for up to 10 players for the Hall of Fame.
Recently a debate took place between members of the BWAA. They discussed whether admitted or just suspected users of steroids and other performance-enhancing drugs might entry into Cooperstown.
Members of the BWAA usually have to comment their votes: they must explain why they have voted pro or contra certain affirmations. Some of them confirm that doping destroys the integrity of sports and intake of prohibited products is frequently claimed by them to be immoral.
As for Tom Verducci, he doesn’t think that usage of steroids is necessarily a moral question. He assures that steroids help users to take unfair advantage over those who don’t dope. According to Tom Verducci, performance-enhancing drugs make competitions unfair. So, administration of banned products induces unfairness in sports. That’s why Tom Verducci denies any connection between doping and morality. He confirms that it is a question that is connected with performance but not to morality. So, Verducci supposes that users of steroids should not be allowed to be in the Hall of Fame. But he has voted for Jeff Bagwell, an admitted steroid user. This sportsperson has admitted that he had administrated androstenedione. It is important to note that this drug was not enumerated among anabolic steroids, when Bagwell administrated it. According to the Control Act 2004, it is listed among forbidden drugs. Since it wasn’t legally clamed to be a steroid, Verducci decided to vote for the consumer of this preparation; however, it was always claimed to be an anabolic-androgenic steroid by specialists. Moreover, it was said that Bagwell just became bigger but didn’t improve his performance due to administration of androstenedione.
Nevertheless, the decision of Verducci to vote for the admitted consumer of the steroid is quite controversial. The following question appears: “Maybe Verducci is not against intake of steroids and other performance-enhancing drugs by sportspersons?” Since Verducci doesn’t agree that intake of steroids is a moral question, he may suggest that increase of performance is not a real problem.
Many people suggest that administration of steroids represents evil because they are illegal.

A jealous steroid user beat her girlfriend very brutally
Johnnie Lee Wiggins is a NPC heavyweight bodybuilder. He was enough successful. Johnnie Lee Wiggins took the third place at the 2011 NPC Emerald Cup and won the 2011 NPC Empire Classic.
He was a boyfriend of Prudence Hockley. She taught English at Woodinville High School in Washington. Prudence Hockley met Lee Wiggins in a gym. He was a personal trainer at that moment.
Once the bodybuilder saw another man’s car in the yard of her home. It was on Christmas day. This bodybuilder was a jealous person. Johnnie Lee Wiggins beat the woman very brutally. Then he left Prudence Hockley unconscious and bleeding on the ground in the yard. The woman was taken in a medical centre where she died that day. The child of this woman was at home and called police and hospital.
It was not the first time, when this bodybuilder was aggressive towards a woman. Certain ladies said that he was very jealous man. They also noted that he became aggressive many times.
Earlier this bodybuilder served more than five years in jail for assault, robbery and theft. It was in Georgia. This bodybuilder was released in 2008. During May 2011 the bodybuilder was under supervision of the Washington Department of Corrections.
It is important to note that he was released on probation. During this time a police officer caught him possessing anabolic steroids; he attacked the officer. The Washington Department of Corrections sent him to Georgia but this bodybuilder didn’t talk to the Georgia Department of corrections that he had come back.
It was said that Lee Wiggins had had “roid rage”. Actually, this term is widely used by media that claims that it is a side reaction of anabolic steroids. But it is necessary to note that the affirmation about uncontrolled aggression which is believed to be caused by intake of anabolic steroids doesn’t have any scientific basis. Only an essentially small number of steroid users have this effect. Administration of steroids doesn’t lead to violence against ladies. Millions cases of domestic violence take place every year but they have no links with anabolic steroids.
There are other aspects which lead to domestic violence. Anabolic steroids should not be demonized for aggressiveness and violence. Media should define other aspects to demonize for tragedies.

It is said the most advanced steroid program of the UFC is in the Northern America
The president of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Dana White tries to defend the anti-doping program of this organization. According to the UFC, their strictest testing program for steroids is in North America. Is it actually true? Sometimes it seems that only foolish fighters are caught taking prohibited drugs by the UFC.
There are some organizations that criticize the drug-testing program of the UFC harshly. The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) and the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport (CCES) belong to chief organizations that criticize anti-doping program of the UFC. But why do they do it? Of course, they fight for own interests. They put efforts to manage steroid testing in all professional as well as amateur sport leagues in the whole world. It is not a secret that steroid testing has become a profitable business. Since they haven’t tested fighters for prohibited medications, they have lost much money.
But there are also some actual problems connected with the UFC anti-doping policy which should be observed. The CEO of the WADA Travis Tygart announces that drug testing of the UFC isn’t effective. It goes without saying that the WADA possesses the best anti-doping program. The UFC drug-testing policy can’t be even compared with that of the UFC. The CEO of the WADA confirms that the UFC put efforts to look better than they are actually. The CEO of the WADA confirms that it is quite ironically that the UFC defends own drug-testing policy and doesn’t agree to have the same or just similar principles as the WADA has.
Major League Baseball did a great mistake, proclaiming that steroids represent a huge problem in this sport. So, it was destroyed good public impression about baseball. As for the National Football League, it was created impression that their drug-testing policy has been very effective.
A question appears: Does Dana White have ability to display that there is no steroid problem in the UFC?

The Association of Surfing Professionals introduces a new anti-doping program into this sport
Anabolic steroids are taken by surfers too. Sport governing body announces that banned products are a significant problem in this sport. That’s why the Association of Surfing Professionals decided to implicate testing for anabolic steroids and other forbidden medications which are used for enhancement of performance.
The Association of Surfing Professionals led certain discussions with the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). They asked how they could implicate testing for prohibited preparations into surfing. Since anti-doping program of the WADA is claimed to be the best policy, the surfing organization intends to introduce this protocol. Of course, this is the next victory of the WADA that promotes the opportunity to manage drug-testing programs in sports.
Everybody knows that surfing is a competitive sport. So, strength, speed and endurance are main abilities that induce winning. So, surfers could think that usage of anabolic steroids and other performance-enhancing drugs induces success greatly. It is also necessary to take in consideration that amount of money which is obtained by winners is large. Winners receive no less than 100, 000 dollars. Desire to receive money could lead surfers to decision to take anabolic steroids.
Nevertheless, it is said that administration of anabolic steroids and other medicines which cause performance-enhancing effects is not widespread in surfing. Many individuals think that intake of recreational drugs is more widespread among surfers than usage of steroids. Sport of 1970s and 1980s was oftan associated with marijuana and lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD). Current facts justify this impression. The number of surfers who are caught taking marijuana, methamphetamine and cocaine is quite enhanced.
Andi Irons, a professional surfer, died in November 2010. The reason of his death was a heart attack caused by drug abuse. It was defined that steroids hadn’t been implicated in this case. Traces of methamphetamine, cocaine and methadone metabolites were found in his body.
Another surfer, Peter Davi, died in December 2007. Increased levels of meth were also found in his system.
As for the professional surfer Anthony Ruffo, he was caught distributing meth.
Only the professional surfer from Brazil Neco Padaratz was caught administrating steroids. He received a one-year ban. This person tested positive for forbidden medicines in 2004. This person confirmed that he had administrated these products to receive a complete recovery from back injuries. In spite of his defense, he was sentenced to a ban. He was the first person who was caught administrating steroids by the Association of Surfing Professionals. According to many sources, he remains to be the only surfer that has ever been caught by the ASP.
The ASP has already the initial budget to introduce the WADA steroid program into surfing.
While it is unlikely that steroids represent a problem in surfing, the new drug-testing program may create a wrong public impression.

A steroid dealer was involved in catching steroid users among police officers
Robert Kusmack, a former officer of Paw Paw Police Department, was caught possessing Fluoxymesterone (Halotestin) due to a Michigan steroid investigation. The targets of the investigation were officials of law enforcement and an owner of a gym. As a result, this police officer received probation of 1 year and was sentenced to pay certain fine. Thus, this police official was dismissed in 2010.
Investigations connected with steroids are conducted usually in the following way: consumers of steroids are used in order to catch steroid dealers. But sometimes authorities apply another way to conduct investigations.
United States Mail Inspection Service had found a package that contained 50 vials of HGH and was addressed to Tom Radke, a distributor of steroids. The West Michigan Enforcement Team (WMET) and the Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement Team (KVET) began to lead the investigation which resulted in detection of the steroid dealer.
But the authorities made a decision not to prosecute the distributor of steroids but to use him as an informant. It was made a decision to catch police officers that use steroids with the help of the distributor of steroids. An owner of a local gym was implicated in this process too.
Radke acted as an undercover informant in this investigation. He sold Fluoxymesterone to Aaron DiPrima who was the owner of a local gym. The gym owner supplied the police official Robert Kusmack with this preparation. Both the gym owner Aaron DiPrima and Kusmack were arrested.
Aaron DiPrima pleaded guilty in possession of an analogue. He was sentenced to one-year probation. He was also sentenced to 60 hours of community service. So, the distributor of steroids was not sentenced to imprisonment. Three steroid users lost their jobs.

Hegstrand used some other drugs in addition to anabolic steroids
The professional wrestling tag team the Road Warriors were first who introduced bodybuilding-type muscularity in this sport. This tag team was composed of Hawk (Mike Hegstrand) and Animal (Joe Laurinaitis). Hegstrand died in 2003. The death of this person was sudden because of a heart attack. This wrestler died when he was just 46. It is known that popular media usually writes about deaths of professional wrestlers, connecting the cases with usage of anabolic steroids. The death of Hegstrand was not an exception. After the death of this wrestler a lot of articles appeared in newspapers which blamed anabolic steroids for this case.
Joe Laurinaitis admitted to usage of steroids by this wrestling team. But he noted that these preparations hadn’t caused Hegstrand’s death. He added that other conditions were responsible for Hegstrand’s death as well as deaths of other wrestlers. Joe Laurinaitis noted that such drugs, as cocaine and Xanax had to be blamed for such cases. Joe Laurinaitis confirmed that he wanted to explain that steroids had not been connected with Hegstrand’s death.
Joe Laurinaitis noted that cocaine and Xanax had caused the death of this professional wrestler. He also noted that these drugs led to deaths of such individuals, as Henning, Rick Rude and Davey Boy Smith. According to Joe Laurinaitis, intake of cocaine often leads to administration of morphine. These drugs destroy health totally and cause heart attacks.
Why must affirmation of Laurinaitis be true? He was in Australia with Hegstrand. He knows about what he talks. Recently this wrestler collaborated with Andrew William Wright to talk about his experiences with “Hawk”.

Andrew Tilin received a ban of 2 years
The amateur cyclist and writer Andrew Tilin was banned for 2 years. United States Anti-Doping Agency banned this individual after he had admitted using steroids for legal hormone replacement therapy. The admitting was made by the cyclist in own book that will be soon probably published. The book is entitled following: “The Doper Next Door: My Strange and Scandalous Year on Performance-Enhancing Drugs” .
The book presents individual experiences of some people that administrated performance-enhancing drugs.
So, Andrew Tilin took the steroid testosterone for hormone replacement therapy. It is quite clear. In fact, it is not yet clear whether this cyclist has mentioned about personal experience related also to other drugs which enhance performance.
Tilin tries to comprehend and describe in his book why persons dope. He notes the motivations of different people. Do these products help actually? These preparations are quite controversial; the explanations linked with these preparations are also controversial. Since numerous users do not like talking about their usage, a lot of answers on questions about doping remain undisclosed.
Tilin has been significantly changed due to usage of the steroid testosterone. He has become much more powerful but more aggressive. He had to worry about his health and about the methods to lie, being an amateur rider. So, he became to be involved in the doping subculture.
Writing his book, Andrew Tilin desired to explain that steroids are unsafe and lead to many adverse consequences. A lot of sportspeople that have used controlled drugs criticize Tilin. One of critics is Joe Papp, a former American cyclist. This athlete was caught distributing and taking certain performance-enhancing drugs. He didn’t admit applying forbidden preparations willingly; he was caught due to an investigation. His professional and personal life was destructed because of these banned medications. Joe Papp wrote about Tilin that he had been doped for a year intentionally. Papp mentioned that Tilin had known that the steroid testosterone was banned but he had administrated it. Then he wrote that these medications caused negative symptoms in users. According to Joe Papp, Andrew Tilin had to receive a ban for 4 years.
The ban of Andrew Tilin began in March 2011.

The things which shouldn’t be done by steroid dealers in order not to be caught
Selling anabolic steroids without doctors’ prescription for performance-enhancing effects is not legal in United States of America. If anyone desires to distribute these products and is implicated in actions related to the steroid black market, this person takes risks having serious problems. But there are also ways to prevent or lower risks being caught by police officials.
Distributors of steroids must follow all traffic rules. This factor is very important. If a person violates any traffic law, driving his car, police officers’ attention will be drawn upon this action. Imagine what happens: when anyone violates speed limit laws, he/she will be stopped by police officers. Moreover, if this individual also smokes pot with his friend, driving the vehicle and violating traffic rules, drug-sniffing dogs will be probably brought to define whether there are any drugs in the vehicle.
Furthermore, reasonable distributors of steroids store the all preparations, the price list and the customer list in a secure place. But if certain distributors of steroids keep all these things in the car in that they were smoking pot, violating speed limit laws, they will be caught possessing steroids illegally with intentions to sell them. Then the troubles begin.
Steroid dealers may think that it is not needed to write such cautions because it goes without any saying that all distributors of illegal drugs understand these precautions. But real facts show that some distributors of steroids don’t follow these recommendations and that’s why they are caught.
A case will be presented further. Yavapai County Sheriff Office’s deputies stopped a vehicle driven by Johnson because this person violated certain traffic laws. The deputies supposed that there might be contraband in this vehicle. The suggestions were justified. Marijuana, some 10-ml vials of the steroid testosterone and syringes were found in this vehicle. Some documents founded in the vehicle showed that the measures of steroids were at the price of more than 3,000 dollars.

It seems to be impossible to stop corruption of sports
Sportspersons are always looking for any methods to enhance their performance. Nobody may doubt about it. That’s why a lot of sportspeople use anabolic steroids or/and other drugs which have performance-enhancing effects. But there is also another method. Mixed martial artists apply even plastic surgery for this goal.
It is known that mixed martial artists experience facial lacerations. This is the nature of this sport. After mixed martial artists have experienced a cut, they become more inclined to following cuts. The scar tissue can develop; wounds are sutured in certain cases improperly. It happens that physicians suture just the superficial layer of the skin. It is not well because it leads to improper healing of underlying tissue.
An interesting article about Frank Stile, a plastic surgeon was published by the writer Jake Rossen. This physician performs operations for mix martial artists. Frank Stile removes the scar tissue and replaces it with tissue from donated dead human bodies. Such procedures are often applied for cosmetic needs. Frank Stile is the first surgeon who has applied this procedure for performance-enhancing effects in fighters.
It is also necessary to note that prominent facial bones in the nose, brow and cheek can make the fighters predisposed to lacerations. But it may be avoided as well. Surgeons can remove the sharp edges. It can help to avoid possible lacerations.
Since predispositions to cuts disturb fighters to reach better results, several experts claim that it is possible to create a super-fighter due to plastic operation. So, these fighters will have significant competitive advantages.
Earlier specialists thought about this possibility as well. It can show the work written by the science fiction author Richard Matheson. The story was written in 1956. The writer described a future. It was written that people watched how large robot athletes fought, trying to destroy one another’s central processing units.
When the autor was writing the story, he didn’t suggest that it would be provocative. Many fans desired to see other sportspeople in reality. They desired the fighter to be other than human. That’s why a lot of persons invested large sums of money, hoping to reach this result.
It is possible to suppose that cosmetic surgery will soon achieve the level of the method of steroid use and intake of other performance-enhancing medications.
Of course, many ethical questions appear in this situation. But several specialists claim that it is too late to discuss these questions. Human performance is already tightly connected with technological progress. The corruption of sports has begun numerous years ago and it can’t be stopped, according to opinions of numerous specialists.
Anti-doping agencies have displayed that they can’t fight against steroids and other prohibited drugs successfully. Will anybody be able to keep fighters from surgical procedures?

Steroid use and police officers
Many people suppose that “roid rage” or uncontrolled aggressive behavior is a normal undesirable reaction that appears in those who use steroids. Furthermore, certain individuals claim that it is even impossible to avoid this unwanted symptom, if you use steroids. Nonetheless, it is not proven scientifically that it is a real unwanted symptom of anabolic steroids. But even if we suppose that it exists, it may occur only in small number of steroid users.
Since a lot of individuals consider that “roid rage” is a negative reaction of anabolic steroids, numerous ill-informed legislative suggestions were made. Some such proposals have been made in Oregon. It has been proposed to introduce some new laws. According to these new laws, if any police officers have used deadly force, or if police force resulted in certain injuries, they have to be tested for steroids.
The same proposal was made by the politician Lew Frederick in Oregon House of Representatives. Those police officials that have applied deadly force will be investigated, tested for some drugs and their mental health will be also evaluated.
Actually, it is unclear why police officials that are involved in deadly force will be tested for steroids. Can steroid use prove that use of deadly force was unjustified? Is it confirmed that steroids because of aggressiveness can make police officers unable to make reasonable decisions?
Investigation team is a reasonable idea for police officials that apply deadly force. But intake of steroids is not to be taken in consideration here. Positives or negatives for steroids can’t define whether deadly force has been applied properly or not. It doesn’t matter a police officer has applied steroids, aspirin or just drunk juice.
Thus, it is possible to make a conclusion that legislators turn to be captivated by hysteria linked with “roid rage” of anabolic steroids. It goes without saying that illegal administration of steroids by police officers has to be a legitimate concern. But it is not said about uncontrolled aggressiveness as a main reason in this situation. The problem is that illegal intake of controlled substances by police officers makes them vulnerable to corruption and the black market of steroids. Such police officers may compromise.

Dough Baron is sponsored by State Pharmaceuticals
State Pharmaceuticals produces subcutaneous pellet delivery system for the steroid testosterone. This company said that it was a sponsor of the professional golfer Dough Baron. It is known that this sportsperson is the only professional golfer that has been banned by the PGA Tour because he has violated anti-doping rules. Robert Whitehead, the chief executive of State Pharmaceuticals proclaimed that it was not fairly to ban Dough Baron. He defended this as well as other professional sportspeople who apply the steroid testosterone, when it is prescribed by doctors in order to enhance decreased levels of this hormone in them.
While Dough Barron filed a lawsuit against the PGA Tour, Robert Whitehead supported him in this lawsuit. The CEO of State Pharmaceuticals noticed that the PGA Tour didn’t have any justice to name the golfer a “cheater”. However the status of the lawsuit hadn’t been made public, the PGA Tour decided to approve the therapeutic administration of the steroid testosterone by the professional golfer Dough Baron. So, the professional golfer Dough Baron got a TUE for usage of the steroid testosterone for therapeutic needs.
Robert Whitehead explained why State Pharmaceuticals decided to be the sponsor of this golfer. He argued that the PGA Tour acted improperly in numerous situations. The athlete that needed therapeutic administration of the steroid testosterone was called a liar. Thus, the PGA Tour contributed in medical ignorance and kept sportsmen from improving their health. Robert Whitehead, the CEO of State Pharmaceuticals, noted that many opinions connected with testosterone replacement therapy didn’t have any scientific basis. These misconceptions have kept numerous individuals from the medical care.
The CEO of State Pharmaceuticals noticed that Dough Barron was guilty in one mistake: he had become the innocent victim of other individuals’ ignorance.
The terms of the agreement between the company State Pharmaceuticals and the professional athlete Dough Barron were not made public. It was only noted that the golfer would educate public about hypogonadism and testosterone replacement therapy.

It is surprisingly that the director general of the WADA thinks that Clenbuterol is an anabolic steroid
David Howman, the director general of the WADA, seems to consider that Clenbuterol belongs to anabolic steroids. This man claims that illegal heroin doesn’t bring so much money as anabolic steroids that are legal, if they are got and taken according to physicians’ prescriptions. The director general of the WADA is also surprised by the affirmation that steroids are useful in order to enhance growth of livestock.
Howman proclaims that use of steroids for growth of livestock is quite obvious due to contaminated beef in China. the director general of the WADA says that the WADA has written to the Chinese minister who has to answer what actually happens in the food industry of this country.
The director general of the WADA says about Clenbuterol as about an anabolic steroid. Howman notes that Chinese beef contains steroids. He believes mistakenly like numerous other persons believe that all medications that have performance-enhancing effects are anabolic steroids. It displays ignorance of these persons. They must understand that not only anabolic steroids belong to the list of banned preparations. There are medications that have performance-enhancing effects but they are not steroids.
Since David Howman is the director general of the World ADA, he should display significantly better knowledge linked with forbidden preparations. David Howman should understand the difference between such medicines as Clenbuterol and anabolic steroids.
David Howman says that steroid trafficking is much more profitable than heroin trafficking because steroids are legal in some cases but heroin is illegal under any circumstances. Furthermore, anabolic steroids are legal in many countries.
The director general of the WADA says that forbidden medicines are dangerous for youth, elite sportspersons and any individual that buys and applies them not for legal needs.

Law enforcements of Louisiana don’t support the drug tax law
A drug tax is required in the state of Louisiana for sales of steroids. This tax exists in this state for the past 20 years. Thus, Todd Matherne, a distributor of steroids had to pay 52 million dollars because he distributed a lot of steroids with the labels of the “Zencall Labs”. This man was sentenced to 7 years in jail but he served 3 years of them.
In fact, Todd Matherne didn’t know the Louisiana’s drug stamp law. But when he was released from the jail, he studied this law. As a result, this steroid dealer filed a lawsuit against the State of Louisiana, confirming that it was too cruel to enforce him to pay 52 million of dollars. This person claimed that it had been an unusual and even too cruel decision. This steroid dealer confirmed that his rights were violated.
The Louisiana Department of Revenue didn’t fight against Todd Matherne in the court. It was decided to reach agreement in this case. Thus, the tax was lowered essentially. According to the new settlement, this steroid dealer had to pay only 2, 000 dollars instead of 52 million dollars. Nonetheless, this drug tax law has remained in Louisiana but its constitutionality is still discussed.
John Williams, a specialist in drug prosecution for the Louisiana District Attorney Association, noted that certain laws in various other states were ruled unconstitutionally. He confirmed that it was the same with the drug tax law in Louisiana. But since certain laws try to criminal twice the same crime, they can be lifted.
John Williams noticed that this law couldn’t work well because it might exclude criminal prosecution. He noticed that this law was not being used because a criminal case could be lost in exchange just for taxes.
There is also another reason that can explain why law enforcements do not want to impose the drug tax law in Louisiana. Law enforcements do not support this law because the taxes go not to law enforcement; they go to state agencies.
According to drug tax law, the tax of 200 dollars is indicated per 1 g of anabolic steroids, if they are distributed by weight. If steroids are distributed by dose units, it is indicated to pay 400 dollars for 10 dose units.
As for Todd Matherne, he was a steroid dealer of the large underground lab called “Zencall Labs”. The Louisiana State Police busted this lab in 2005. More than 10, 000 tablets and 300 capsules of Stanozolol, more than 6, 000 tablets of Anadrol, 3,500 tablets and 1, 900 capsules of Cialis, 1, 5000 capsules of Tamoxifen, 2, 400 capsules of Clomid, 800 capsules of Anabol and 600 capsules of Dianabol were seized by the officials. Furthermore, over 700 vials of injectable anabolic steroids and certain pounds of raw steroid powder were also found there.

The anti-steroid campaign “Don’t Be An Asterisk” will be called “Play Asterisk Free”
“Don’t Be An Asterisk” anti-steroid campaign was organized to teach people about intake of steroids, about dangerous things connected with performance-enhancing drugs within and outsides sports in order to promote ceasing administrating these medicines.
But this campaign was in negligence during certain period of time. The United States Olympic Committee (USOC) and Ad Council decided to restart activities of this campaign. It was made a decision to create a new gateway page for the website and to alter the name from the “Don’t Be an Asterisk” to the “Play Asterisk Free”.
The new website for “Play Asterisk Free” has links and leads to the original “Don’t Be Asterisk” which has remained unmodified for more than 2 years. This site encourages the visitors to enter another new page that is on Facebook. So, they can play asterisk free there. The same page will be established on Twitter with the same name “Play Asterisk Free”. So, the popular social media will promote spreading the messages of the campaign.
The initial site DontBeAnAsterisk.com includes an interactive soccer game. Players have to score goals avoiding the asterisks. The asterisks represent anabolic steroids. If the interactive soccer players don’t avoid the asterisks, their bodies become much more muscular.
Although the game has been created to teach children that steroids are unsafe, the results are turned to be opposite. Children find it funny to fail avoiding asterisks and to see how muscles of the interactive players become significantly enhanced. Although this game is still available on the website, it is unlikely that it can teach kids that steroids should not be used.
The chief purpose of this campaign is to teach kids that a user of steroids isn’t a trustful person; he\she is “fake”, a “joke” and a “poser”.

Some persons suggest that the third book of Jose Canseco will fail
Jose Canseco who has proclaimed himself as a “godfather of steroids” in baseball writes his third book. This person avoids discussing anabolic steroids and other medications which have performance-enhancing effects. The writer desires to focus on his own experience. The book with the title “The truth hurts” will describe how the writer’s revelations about application of steroids by baseball players corrupted his life. The author is going to mention that he has been affected both professionally and financially because he knew the truth.
The first book of Jose Canseco has the title “Juiced: Wild Times, Rampant Roids, Smash Hits and How Baseball Got Big”. It is the bestseller. The author named several baseball players who administrated steroids. Such players, as Mark McGwire, Rafael Palmeiro and Jason Giambi were mentioned in the book. Thus, this writer made public consumers of steroids in baseball. Moreover, as a result, many of these accused sportspeople admitted that they administrated prohibited drugs. Later, as a celebration of this aspect, Jose Canseco published another book that had the title “Vindicated”. This writer mentioned also names of other baseball players that took steroids. Alex Rodriguez and Roger Clemens were named by the author.
Some individuals suggest that the third book of this writer will fail. It will not achieve the same celebrity as previous books, according to them. These persons add that Jose Canseco will be probably surprised but connections between truth about steroids and his professional life will not draw readers’ attention.
But it is unclear whether the opinions of these persons who think that the third book of this writer will fail will be justified. This writer has been entertaining numerous persons, when he fought against Danny Bonaduce in a celebrity boxing match in 2009. Earlier he was humbled, when he fought against the football player Vai Sikahema in a boxing match. Jose Canseco was knocked by Vai Sikahema and was mocked by numerous people.
It is known that Jose Canseco took anabolic steroids and his natural testosterone secretion became reduced. So, he had such undesirable effects of steroids, as decreased sex drive and depression.
This writer also intended to contraband HCG across the Mexican border. Jose Canseco did it for self-administration to be treated from low testosterone level. So, he had legal problems connected with steroids.
Recently this person entertained a lot of persons, when he wrote on his Twitter account that he would hit easily a softball further than Rodriguez may hit a baseball. He challenged Alex Rodriguez to compete with him.
The time comes, when we see whether the book of Jose Canseco “The truth hits” will reach popularity.
