Distribution of anabolic steroids and alcohol at the Cape Vincent Prison

Ismael Melendez was sentenced to 9 years in jail for weapons’ charge in 2005. This person has served as an inmate there. Recently Melendez was accused in selling anabolic steroids. Melendez promoted distribution of illegal products inside and even outside the prison in New York. This man faces charges of prison contraband, illegal possession of illegal drugs and criminal possession of syringes.
It was found out that Richard Finley, Melendez’ substance abuse counselor, had participated in the criminal deals of Melendez. This man worked more than 10 years for the Cape Vincent prison. The substance abuse canselor helped him to sell anabolic steroids outside the prison. This led to his arrest in November 2011. It happened when he had caught during distribution of anabolic steroids to a man in a certain car lot.
Melendez sent his substance abuse counselor to deliver certainprohibited medications to a customer. The purchase was made in a certain shopping centre.
Of course, a question appears: Why did Finley begin to promote selling forbidden medications?
The substance abuse counselor admitted why he had agreed to help Melendez . The inmate promised to give him HGH and 1500 dollars. It would have been given as exchange for promotion of smuggling alcohol, anabolic steroids and creatine inside the prison. But the substance abuse counselor was arrested by the police and charged with possession of banned substances and a hypodermic instrument.
The substance abuse counselor made also another great mistake. He brought his small child of 7 years old, when he was involved in the illegal activity. That’s why he was also accused in endangering the welfare of a child.
This resulted in a suspension of Finley from his work without any pay. Thus, this person lost the well-paying job. As it is known, Finley received about 52, 000 dollars per one year.
The inmate Melendez was transferred to another prison. This person continues to serve his sentence.
