Norwegian police officers have busted a large doping ring. More than 10 individuals related to illegal actions were arrested. Six individuals were sentenced to prison.
According to affirmations of the newspaper Dagens N?ringsliv (DN), the doping ring was set in Trondheim. DN published own investigation related to illegal distribution of anabolic steroids in Norway. Police investigated the case.
It is believed that a secret center is located in Trondheim. It controls illicit distribution of doping products and money laundering.
The arrested persons were connected with bodybuilding, fitness and health industries in Norway. Some individuals were arrested at their homes; others – in business offices, parking lots and tram stops.
Investigators suppose that several individuals are masked by the names of Guru and Karma.
Robert Eilertsen is included in those who have been arrested. He is an operator and editor of a fitness blog. He coached well-known athletes within football, boxing, handball, etc.
It is suggested that Eilertsen and certain other persons have provided dangerous doping medicines to Norwegian youth during certain years.
About 60 police officers were involved in raids. The raids caused 11 arrests.
Since the investigation has not been finished, police officers don’t report about their further actions.
Norwegian customs officers and tax authorities assisted the investigation.
Many computers and certain documents were confiscated during raids of homes, business officers, cars, etc.
Eilertsen and Gunnar Strand Jacobsen, another arrested person, have denied their links with doping products. Jacobsen is the owner of Kaliber Gym in Trondheim, one of the most famous gyms in Norway. Jacobsen was personal trainer of sportspeople who got prizes. He coached sportspeople who attended to different sports. He is claimed to be a high-qualified nutrition expert.
The raid was called “Operation Gilde”.
Eilertsen and Jacobsen are accused in sale of doping medications and money laundering.
