Six persons that were arrested due to Operation Gilde were sentenced to imprisonment

Norwegian police officers have busted a large doping ring. More than 10 individuals related to illegal actions were arrested. Six individuals were sentenced to prison.
According to affirmations of the newspaper Dagens N?ringsliv (DN), the doping ring was set in Trondheim. DN published own investigation related to illegal distribution of anabolic steroids in Norway. Police investigated the case.
It is believed that a secret center is located in Trondheim. It controls illicit distribution of doping products and money laundering.
The arrested persons were connected with bodybuilding, fitness and health industries in Norway. Some individuals were arrested at their homes; others – in business offices, parking lots and tram stops.
Investigators suppose that several individuals are masked by the names of Guru and Karma.
Robert Eilertsen is included in those who have been arrested. He is an operator and editor of a fitness blog. He coached well-known athletes within football, boxing, handball, etc.
It is suggested that Eilertsen and certain other persons have provided dangerous doping medicines to Norwegian youth during certain years.
About 60 police officers were involved in raids. The raids caused 11 arrests.
Since the investigation has not been finished, police officers don’t report about their further actions.
Norwegian customs officers and tax authorities assisted the investigation.
Many computers and certain documents were confiscated during raids of homes, business officers, cars, etc.
Eilertsen and Gunnar Strand Jacobsen, another arrested person, have denied their links with doping products. Jacobsen is the owner of Kaliber Gym in Trondheim, one of the most famous gyms in Norway. Jacobsen was personal trainer of sportspeople who got prizes. He coached sportspeople who attended to different sports. He is claimed to be a high-qualified nutrition expert.
The raid was called “Operation Gilde”.
Eilertsen and Jacobsen are accused in sale of doping medications and money laundering.

Members of multinational drug ring were arrested in Spain

Spain’s policemen arrested Scott Boote, a person, who was involved in illicit actions linked with an international drug ring producing stimulants which increase libido. Large measures of preparations were confiscated by policemen. It was estimated the street value of these medications. It was claimed that it was almost ?3 million. A Briton, a 72-year-old man from Liverpool, was also questioned. According to statements of police officers, these two persons manufactured eight new sexual stimulants and offered them for sale per internet without medical controls. Six other individuals were also questioned during this investigation. Investigators affirmed that the individuals who were involved in this illegal drug ring bought vehicles and another property due to sale of illegal sex preparations. Several bank accounts were blocked by police. Over 100,000 dosages of anabolic steroids, properties and cars were confiscated.
A spokesperson for Spanish police claimed that all members of the drug ring lived very luxuriously. They possess many properties and luxury cars. They bought properties abroad in order to hide the illegal business. Investigators determined that the ring offered for sale sexual drugs for both males and females. The medications were sold per internet. Persons from the whole world could buy the drugs. So, people from the USA, the UK, Thailand, Malaysia, etc. were customers who obtained medications from this ring. Three factories were located in Costa del Sol. Police officers believe that those who were producing the products didn’t possess required knowledge for this purpose. According to them, the persons that were involved in the drug ring created also legitimate business in order to hide the illegal one. They tried to give legitimate appearance to illegal actions. Their profits were masked by other legal commercial companies.
Police officers also found boxes that had to be sent to customers. Anabolic steroids were also found and confiscated by police officers. The arrested persons also possessed packages, labels and leaflets.

“Roid rage” of steroids for drivers

Although it is not yet proven scientifically whether uncontrolled aggressiveness is an unwanted result of steroids, these products are blamed for some criminal actions quite frequently.
Michael Barton, a young man from Britain, hit a Ford Fiesta, while he was driving his Volkswagen Golf. Paul Gard was a motorist of Ford Fiesta. Barton had passed Paul Gard. But then Michael Barton had to pull back in front of him, since another vehicle was driving the other way. Paul Gard flashed him. So, he had to brake suddenly. Barton became maddened, stopped his car, broke the wing mirror of Gard’s Ford Fiesta and hit Gard in the face. Then Gard’s wife called police. While she was calling, Barton drove off calmly.
Michael Barton, a 21-year-old man who has a son of two years old, uses steroids for bulking effects. Thus, it has been confirmed that these remedies affected his behavior. The defense attorney for this young man claimed that steroids had a negative impact on temperament of his client, since these drugs enhanced his testosterone levels.
Previously Barton was convicted for some crimes, including domestic violence. Last year this young person pleaded guilty to an assault, criminal damage and driving carelessly due to his anger following assaults.
The judge Patrick Hooton at Portsmouth Crown Court Deputy Circuit affirmed that he was not sure that steroids were responsible for his improper behavior. But he added that it was entirely mad to become infuriated and hit a man in the face just because he flashed him. The judge noted that Barton’s behavior was too immoral and he said: “you ought to go to prison”.
Thus, this young man was sentenced to 6-month jail sentence suspended for a year; he was also sentenced to pay 500 dollars in compensation and ?277 for damage of the vehicle.

Green tea may make T: E ratio testing worthless

Sportspersons become more and more sophisticated in intake of steroids. They find out new methods to mask their usage of forbidden medications. Several athletes take time to study researchers’ affirmations which may help them to hide that they dope. Nowadays a method has been found: sportspersons can mask usage of testosterone with the help of green tea.
Testosterone represents a hormone which is secreted in body naturally. Thus, it may be difficult for anti-doping agencies to determine that a sportsperson has administered testosterone. T: E ratio testing is commonly used by anti-doping organizations. Such tests may manifest uncommon ratio of testosterone to epitestosterone in urine. But it doesn’t manifest difference between testosterone which has been secreted in body naturally and that introduced into body with the help of injections, gels, etc.
Declan Naughton and his colleagues at Kingston University ( London) have determined that green tea contains such compounds which are called “catechins”. They have capacity to inhibit the enzyme UGT2B17. This enzyme promotes joining glucuronic acid to testosterone. If UGT2B17 is inhibited, less testosterone glucoronide is excreted in urine.
Catechins, the substances which may mask administration of testosterone, are contained in green and white tea. Black tea lacks such compounds.
Naughton and his colleagues have conducted certain experiments. They claim that a cup of strong green tea hides administration of testosterone.
So, those sportspeople who apply testosterone may lower quantities of testosterone excreting in urine by drinking of green or white tea. Green or white tea has ability to block excretion of testosterone, increasing circulating levels of this hormone.
The World Anti-Doping Agency was informed about the discovering by the experts. If this process occurs, it is worthless to test urine. Blood tests should be performed in order to detect testosterone use.
Olivier Rabin, the WADA’s expert, affirms that regular checks of blood steroids will be added. Everything will be done by anti-doping officials in order to prevent fooling of urine tests.

Amino acids in bottles sent to Wim Vansevenant

The case related to the former Belgian rider Wim Vansevenant altered essentially. An analysis illustrated that the doping drugs which were ordered by him didn’t contain the contents enumerated on the labels. This person was cheated by the company where he ordered the products.
Last year some packages sent to the former rider by an Australian company were intercepted by customs officials. It was written on the intercepted bottles that they contained the doping preparation TB-500. It represents a peptide hormone that can increase stamina and promote healing. The Belgian authorities started an investigation. It was suspected that Wim Vansevenant supplied the Omega Pharma-Lotto team with doping products. This sportsperson rode professionally 10 years, from 1998 to 2008. Last 6 years of the career he was with this team.
An analysis of the bottles intercepted by customs manifested that they contained only amino acids. Wim Vansevenant’s attorney noted that the case had to be dropped. He pointed out that since the product was not connected with doping, the former athlete didn’t deserve to be punished.
Johan Lescrauwaet, the prosecutor’s spokesperson confirmed that the contents didn’t correspond to the name of the drug that was written on the label and to the statements of the former rider.
Just amino acids were found in the bottles. No any doping medicine. So, there is no any evidence that Wim Vansevenant provided doping drugs to other individuals.
The hearing of the former Belgian rider was scheduled to be later.

Bruce Goldberger often criticizes anti-doping agencies

Testimonies of the prominent toxicologist Bruce Goldberger will probably impact greatly on decision of the court in the case related to Roger Clemens. Bruce Goldberger is the Professor of Pathology and Director of Toxicology at the University of Florida College of Medicine. This specialist didn’t testify on behalf of the government. Although he was invited in order to replace Don Catlin, the director of the WADA UCLA Medicine, Goldberger’s testimonies didn’t correspond to those which are commonly presented by anti-doping organizations. This toxicologist testified on behalf of the accused sportsman.
Bruce Goldberger has gained his celebrity due to his participation in various news programs. Even during such programs he doesn’t abstain from critical words. He criticized certain anti-doping agencies, including the WADA.
Bruce Goldberger expressed criticism for feds in the case linked with Roger Clemens. They based on “beer can evidence” provided by Brian McNamee to prove that his client took steroids and HGH. Brian McNamee, the former personal trainer of Roger Clemens, presented a beer can containing utilized needles and syringes which had traces of such steroids, as Sustanon, Primobolan Depot and Deca Durabolin and were mixed allegedly with Clemens’ blood. McNamee was keeping the beer can over 6 years. Bruce Goldberger noticed that such basis wasn’t reasonable.
Goldberger claimed that it was impossible to base on “beer can evidence”. He explained that no one could prove that Roger Clemens used steroids and HGH, basing on the beer can, because the theory of contamination could present.
So, the toxicologist Bruce Goldberger didn’t support the evidence used by the feds. Earlier the toxicologist also expressed criticism connected with evidence applied by certain anti-doping agencies.
Certain years ago Bruce Goldberger testified on behalf of the American cyclist Floyd Landis, when this athlete appealed positives for steroids. A WADA-accredited lab situated in France found traces of exogenous testosterone; T: E ratio and carbon isotope ratio tests were utilized by the lab. Bruce Goldberger used similar words and criticism during the appeal connected with Floyd Landis.
The toxicologist Bruce Goldberger confirmed during an interview that the WADA used unsuitable ways and violated rights of athletes in order to have the success in anti-doping programs.
Floyd Landis didn’t have success in his appeal and admitted that he had administered steroids, EPO and certain other related drugs.
Nobody can be sure which results will be reached by Roger Clemens. Will the government prove that he has lied before the Congress? Will he admit to taking forbidden medicines? Or will be the results contrary?

Rusty Hardin and masseuse of Roger Clemens: no any changes are seen in physical appearance of Clemens

It is known by each baseball fan that Roger Clemens is charged with obstruction of justice. It is believed that he has lied before Congress about application of steroids and HGH.
Rusty Hardin, the attorney that was hired by Roger Clemens to defend him, noted that Roger Clemens’ physical appearance didn’t change greatly before, during and after his working with Brian McNamee. He confirmed that this factor proved that Roger Clemens hadn’t applied steroids and other related products.
Enhancement of muscle mass is commonly utilized by prosecutors as proof that a person applied steroids or/and other related medicines. But this tendency was not utilized during the case against Roger Clemens. No one could affirm that muscles of Roger Clemens displayed that he had taken steroids and HGH. It is a difference between the cases against Roger Clemens and Barry Bonds.
When it comes to the governmental case against Barry Bonds, feds called many individuals in the trial who were able to testify that anabolic steroids caused essential changes in physical appearance of this sportsperson. They affirmed that administration of steroids led to enhancement of muscle mass, enhanced size of the head and shrunken testicles in Barry Bonds.
So, the defense attorney Rusty Hardin presented four pictures of Roger Clemens. The photos displayed physique of Roger Clemens, including the period of time when Clemens was working with the trainer Brian McNamee. Hardin noticed that the photos manifested that there were no changes in physical appearance that could manifest that he administered steroids and HGH.
Rusty Hardin claimed that the photos displayed only the process of ageing. The masseur Cheryl Redfern also claimed that she didn’t observe any changes in physical appearance of Roger Clemens. Roger Clemens had neither back acne, nor gynecomastia, nor dramatically increased muscle mass.
Phil Garner a former Major League Baseball player also affirmed that there were not any substantial changes in physical appearance and performance of Roger Clemens during working with Brian McNamee.
Steve Durham, the Assistant US Attorney put efforts to discredit the affirmation about lack of physical changes in Roger Clemens during the cross-examination of Garner. He confirmed that while certain steroids enhanced muscle size, others didn’t induce enhancing muscles. So, he affirmed that the pictures could say nothing about steroid use.
Federal prosecutors want to take advantages in both cases: in the case against Roger Clemens and in that against Barry Bonds. While they claim that physical changes in Barry Bonds manifest that he has utilized steroids, lack of physical changes in Roger Clemens doesn’t prove that he hasn’t taken steroids.

Anders Breivik committed massacre consciously

Anders Behring Breivik is a murderer of over 70 persons. He bombed buildings of government in Oslo (Norway). Certain teenagers of the Workers’ Youth League camp were also killed by this person on Utoya island in July 2011.
This criminal prepared for the murders essentially. He acknowledged that he had had cycles with steroids.  Since he administered steroids, these products were blamed for the murderes by numerous reporters.
But what did experts claim? Joerge Moerland, a professor of forensic toxicology at the Norwegian Institute of Public Health, contested statements of these journalists. The specialist Moerland claimed that anabolic steroids were not responsible for the crimes committed by this person. But the toxicologist admitted that he couldn’t contest that these drugs could lead to aggressiveness in the killer.
An “ECA stack”, a combination of caffeine, aspirin and ephedrine, was also utilized by Breivik. Actually, this stack is commonly used by bodybuilders in order to lose fat and stimulate themselves for workouts. It was determined that Breivik has taken great quantity of the combination. The amount administered by him was by 50 % high than it is allowed under rules of European Union.
The forensic toxicologist Joerge Moerland claimed that the murderer’s behavior was more essentially affected by the “ECA stack” than steroids. He explained that ephedrine might cause desire to be involved in risky activities. Joerge Moerland claimed that Breivik’s central nervous system had been affected by ephedrine.
Nevertheless, the forensic toxicologist Moerland mentioned about limitation of the ECA’ impact. The quantity of caffeine consumed by the killer was equal to about 5 cups of coffee. Thus, the quantity was not enough increased in order to be blamed for the massacre.
The killer described his intake of steroids and dietary supplements in details. He also recommended other individuals buying steroids at Alinshop.
The killer expressed his dislike of Dianabol because it was able to lead to water retention. He explained that Dianabol could add more body mass than consumers could carry. According to his affirmations, approximately 50 % of the mass gotten due to this steroid is liquid retention. The killer decided to apply some combinations that were appropriate for his needs.
The killer learnt about advantages and disadvantages of different steroids in order to choose those who were suitable for his needs. He claimed that Testosterone Propionate had certain priorities over Dianabol. He also suggested that combinations of Dianabol with Aromasin or intake of Dianabol followed by administration of Winstrol could benefit essentially.
Thus, the murderer prepared for the massacre scrupulously. He spent time in order to choose and plan steroid cycles and intake of dietary supplements. He also pondered about each detail related to attacks and murders.
However certain persons considered that Breivik was legally insane, it’s wrong. It is obvious that the crimes have been committed consciously.

Outlaw motorcycle gangs are responsible for spread of illegal usage of steroids in Australia

The newspaper “The Sydney Morning Herald” reports that illicit administration of steroids has become widespread in Australia due to outlaw motorcycle gangs. The gangs get essential profit and reduced risks.
Nick Bingham, a detective, has affirmed that New South Wales Police doesn’t focus on investigation connected with steroid use but anabolic steroids become targets of investigations, when outlaw motorcycle gangs are arrested for violation of other laws.
According to the detective Nick Bingham, however New South Wales police officers don’t raid houses of gangs for steroids, they find them, when searches for weapons and psychoactive drugs are conducted.
The detective Nick Bingham has confirmed that they ordinarily seize such amounts of steroids from motorcycle gangs that are just for personal intake. Amounts of other substances which are commonly found in possession of gangs are much greater than those of steroids.
The detective Nick Bingham has confirmed that criminals like taking anabolic steroids in order to have threatening muscular bodies. They want to look big and powerful.
Although Nick Bingham assures that gangs have steroids just for personal application, the newspaper “The Sydney Morning Herald” presents opposite opinion. It reports that motorcycle gangs are involved in smuggling of steroids.
Although gyms are claimed to be the most important sources of steroids for bodybuilders, it is confirmed by “The Sydney Morning Herald” that some gyms have direct links with motorcycle gangs. The Herald claims that many seizures made by the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service are related closely to distribution of steroids by motorcycle gangs.
According to reports of Australian Customs, mail seizures of steroids have been enhanced essentially in comparison with past years.
Over 2, 000 seizures were made in 2009-2010 and over 5, 000 seizures of steroids were recorded in 2010-2011.
Numerous seizures were connected with personal application of steroids smuggled by bodybuilders.

Former Major League Baseball first baseman will testify against Roger Clemens

Federal prosecutors asked the judge Reggie Walton to permit the former first baseman of the Major League Baseball David Segui to provide testimony in the trial connected with the case of Roger Clemens. This player had a conversation with Brian McNamee, the former personal trainer of Roger Clemens. It is stated that they have discussed about steroid use by the former celebrated baseball player.
The former personal trainer of Roger Clemens was called to testify against his client because he turned out to be the only person that had direct knowledge about application of steroids and other related drugs by Roger Clemens. Furthermore, Brian McNamee stored injection equipment: vials, syringes and needles which were allegedly mixed with Roger Clemens’ blood. DNA analysis was conducted in order to confirm whether the blood belonged really to Clemens.
Rusty Hardin, a defense attorney for Roger Clemens, claimed that the steroid evidence was thought up by Brian McNamee after the questioning by federal prosecutors.
But prosecutors noted that David Segui told them that Brian McNamee said that he saved certain things as evidence of steroid use by some players in 2001. It was several years before Roger Clemens’ former trainer became the target of the investigation.
Information presented by Segui to federal prosecutors differed entirely from that presented to Jim Baumbach, a sportswriter. His words provided to Jim Baumbach were published in an article in 2008. According to that article, David Segui claimed that he had never spoken about steroids with his friend Brian McNamee.
David Segui learnt about implication of Brian McNamee into the trial of Roger Clemens only in 2006, when he read an article in the Los Angeles Times.
David Segui discussed openly about personal usage of steroids and other related medicines. He said that he had been asked many times by players of the Major League Baseball whether he had taken steroids. The former Major League Baseball first baseman acknowledged that he had applied them. But David Segui confirmed that he had never discussed about intake of steroids with Brian McNamee.
David Segui supported McNamee’s decision to keep evidence about administration of forbidden medications by his clients. According to Segui, it is a right decision because sometimes innocent persons are blamed but guilty persons are covered. So, Brian McNamee could help to reveal the truth.
Although the judge Walton was asked to permit David Segui to testify in the trial linked with Roger Clemens, it is unclear yet whether the judge will allow it.

Another fighter will probably fight against Victor Ortiz instead of Andre Berto

The WBC welterweight champion Andre Berto tested positive for Nandrolone. The Voluntary Anti-Doping Agency (VADA) conducted the drug testing.
This boxer had to meet Victor Ortiz on June 23, 2012 in Los Angeles. This boxer agreed to submit to random drug testing before the match. Both “A” and “B” urine samples indicated about administration of Nandrolone.
It was already the second time this month, when the VADA tested fighters and caught them utilizing steroids. The first boxer that tested positive this month due to tests conducted by the VADA was Lamont Peterson. He had to fight against Amir Khan. It seems to be strange that Peterson requested random blood and urine testing. A carbon isotope ratio test conducted by the VADA demonstrated that exogenous testosterone was in system of Peterson certain weeks before the match.
Financial position of certain companies was affected due to tests conducted by the VADA. For example, Golden Boy Promotions lost essential potential profit due to Lamont Peterson’s positives. It was determined by Richard Schaeffer, the CEO of Golden Boy Promotions, that the company lost 250, 000 dollars.
The cancelation of the fight between Andre Berto and Victor Ortiz will probably not influence greatly on financial position of certain promotional companies because another boxer will possibly replace Andre Berto and will fight against Ortiz.
As for the fighter Andre Berto, he didn’t provide any explanation for his positives. This boxer hired the attorney Howard Jacobs who would represent and defeat him.
Andre Berto claimed that he had never administered steroids. Thus, he claimed that he investigated with his attorney what could lead to positives for steroids. The fighter Andre Berto concluded that he had never cheated; he achieved success in sport due to hard workouts and dedication.
The attorney Howard Jacobs represented many other sportspersons that turned out to be victims of contaminated dietary supplements.
It is confirmed that since Nandrolone has quite long half life and it is detected easily, it isn’t widespread among those who dope. But it has been manifested numerous times that some dietary supplements contained the compound nandrolone that caused positives for steroids. But since sometimes not each compound is written on the label, sportspeople become victims of contaminated sport supplements.

Nevada Athletic Commission should take in consideration that steroids benefit greatly during trainings

Chael Sonnen, an American mixed martial artist is allowed to apply anabolic steroids. The physician Timothy Trainor claimed that this fighter really experienced hypogonadism.
What does this disorder represent? Hypogonadism is connected with insufficient production of testosterone. Physicians commonly indicate testosterone replacement therapy in order to treat this disorder.
The athlete Chael Sonnen has gotten a therapeutic use exemption (TUE). Thus, he is allowed to utilize steroids for therapeutic purposes and fight against Anderson Silva at UFC 148 in July 2012.
According to recommendations of Sonnen’s doctor, he has to apply injections of Testosterone Enanthate and Testosterone Cypionate twice per week. The quantities that are prescribed have not been revealed. But under establishments of the Nevada Athletic Commission, blood serum levels of testosterone in this fighter must remain within normal range on the morning after the fight against Silva.
According to the doctor Trainor, those who compete with TUE must be tested on the morning after the match to determine whether they have applied something right before the match.
Trainor suggests that testosterone can produce performance-enhancing effects, if it is taken right before the fight. He states that injections must not be applied in the days before a match in order to prevent elevated testosterone levels.
But it seems that the NAC is not aware that steroids cause effects connected with increase of performance, not only if they are applied right before competitions. Administration of steroids influences greatly on performance during trainings before competitions. And the results remain even after consumers stop applying them.
Sonnen had high testosterone levels at UFC 117. He admitted that he had tested positive because he had been on TRT.  After his appeal the suspension was reduced to 6 months from one year. But Chael Sonnen didn’t have any TUE that time.

Celebrated weightlifter from Bulgaria was convicted due to smuggling of cocaine

The Bulgarian weightlifter Galabin Boevski was sentenced to nine months in jail due to illegal international drug trade. This person was arrested in October 2011 at the Guarulhos International Airport in Brazil after he attempted to board the plane with 8 kg of cocaine. This weightlifter was headed to Bulgaria. The narcotic was estimated. It could be sold at the price of 500, 000 dollars on the streets in European countries.
Boevski is a famous person in Bulgaria. He is claimed to be one of the most famous weightlifters in this country.
First he was caught administering steroids in 1995. Of course, he was sentenced to suspension.
Then this sportsperson was caught administering forbidden medications in 2004. It was the second time when he broke doping laws. Actually, Boevski didn’t test positive for any forbidden products. But anti-doping officials defined that he didn’t provide own urine. The urine that was provided by this athlete belonged to another individual. As a result, Boevski received 8-year suspension. During serving the suspension he was caught trafficking cocaine.
Galabin Boevski became prominent due to his achievements in weightlifting. This athlete won gold medals at some competitions: at the 1999 World Weightlifting Championships in Athens, the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney and the 2001 World Weightlifting Championships in Antalya.
At the 2003 World Championships in Vancouver Boevski and his teammates from Bulgaria provided urine samples that belonged to another individual. It was determined by anti-doping officials that the three urine samples were produced by one individual. These athletes were sentenced to suspensions. Boevski appealed the suspension but it was unsuccessful.
Boevski broke several world records at various competitions. He held 3 world records. The best lifts of this person were following: a 162, 5 kg snatch, 196, 5 kg clean and jerk and a 357, 5 kg of two lifts at the 1999 Championships.
It is strange but this athlete’s reputation wasn’t destroyed in Bulgaria. He utilized his status of celebrity in sports in order to launch a Technogym fitness center in Sofia. The center was called Atama Wellness and Spa.
Moreover, the Brazilian judge Maria Isabel do Prado noticed that Boevski utilized also his status of celebrity in sports in order to traffic cocaine. She also noticed that this sportsman used the participation of his daughter in a Brazilian tennis tournament in order to cover his illegal operations linked with trafficking of the narcotic.
The weightlifter Boevski confirmed that he would appeal the conviction.

Federal government couldn’t prove that Roger Clemens had lied before Congress about usage of steroids and HGH

The desire of the federal government related to the case of Roger Clemens was following: they wanted to prove that this sportsperson had lied before the Congress about administration of anabolic steroids and HGH. But the government couldn’t do it. It was expected that Andy Pettitte would say that Roger Clemens had told him that he had applied the banned medications during a conversation in 1999 or in 2000. But the affirmation of Andy Pettitee was shocking for prosecutors. He said that he couldn’t confirm that Roger Clemens had used steroids and HGH because he was not sure.
Actually, did the statement of Andy Pettitte shock the prosecutors? This person swore for the 2008 Congressional hearings on application of steroids in the Major League Baseball that Roger Clemens acknowledged that he had used HGH. But he pronounced opposite statements at the Barrett Prettyman Federal Courthouse in Washington.
Michael Attanasio, a defense attorney for Roger Clemens, asked Andy Pettitte whether he may claim that he is 50-50 that he has understood wrongly Roger Clemens about HGH. Andy Pettitte answered that he is indeed 50-50 about this aspect.
When the prosecutors heard Pettitte’s answer, they became confused. They stated that Andy Pettitte never said this way, when he was asked certain times.
The judge Reggie Walton noticed that he understood that Andy Pettitte’s answer has been conflicted. Actually, his testimony was following: “I don’t know”.
The attorneys for Roger Clemens utilized the moment of the prosecutors’ confusion. They asked the judge to brush aside the testimony of Andy Pettitte because he was 50-50. The attorneys concluded that he probably misunderstood the athlete Roger Clemens or he forgot the details of the conversation.
The government has noted that the jury still allows taking into account the testimony of Andy Pettitte. ASUSA Dunham has claimed that under federal rules jury is allowed to choose which affirmation to believe. He hopes that the jury will brush aside the testimony that doesn’t support the government.
So, the testimony provided by Andy Pettitte and his wife led to problems. Testimonies of Andy’s wife during the first trial resulted in the declaration of a mistrial by the judge Walton.
Pettitte affirms that he is a friend of Roger Clemens. Clemens must also confirm that they are friends after Andy  Pettitte’s last testimony.

Why did Cullen Mutrie shoot five police officers?

Law enforcement officers raided Cullen Mutrie’s house for a steroid investigation. This ma shot five police officers at his home. One of them, the Greenland Police Chief Michael Maloney,  was killed; 4 police officials were seriously injured. The next morning Cullen Mutrie and a woman were found dead.
It is suspected that Mutrie was applying steroids at the time of the shootout. Jane Young, the New Hampshire Associate Attorney General, claimed that toxicology reports were waiting in order to learn whether metabolites of steroids were in the body of this man.
Police officers reported that Cullen Mutrie had had very muscular appearance. This man worked at Genetix Fitness in Seabrook. It was claimed that he was 6 feet 3 inches tall. He weighed 275 pounds. During a raid that was in July 2010 law enforcement officials discovered anabolic steroids at his home. The policeman Wayne Young found them in a coffee table. He said that he had saw a plastic bag with certain vials. A vial was with powder; others contained liquid. According to the labels, they were steroids.
The New Hampshire State Crime Lab analyzed the vials. It was affirmed that the vials contained such medications, as Trenbolone Acetate, Sustanon 250, Boldenone Undecylenate and Nandrolone Decanoate.
John Miller, a professor of kinesiology, was asked whether a connection between the deadly actions and aggressiveness due to anabolic steroids could present. The professor said that it was plausible. But according to him, it is impossible to conclude that there was a direct link between administration of anabolic steroids and the crime.
John Miller supposed that steroids which were on the black market were provided from legitimate pharmaceutical companies. But he has been mistaken because the majority of steroids that are offered for sales on the black market are manufactured in underground labs. It is even suggested that Cullen Mutrie manufactured steroids.
Since a link between crimes and administration of steroids is a controversial issue, not only police officers but also media investigates the case connected with this killer.

NSAC members: Alistar Overeem has questionable doctor

Alistar Overeem, a mixed martial artist, appealed his suspension that was received by him for intake of anabolic steroids on April 24, 2012. But he couldn’t win his appeal against members of NSAC. Alistar Overeem forfeited his license for nine months. Then this fighter will be allowed to return.
Alistar Overeem acknowledged that he had administered injectable testosterone that was advised him by his doctor. Alistar Overeem used the strategy that was considered to be boring. He claimed that he had never applied anabolic steroids or other related medications intentionally. Alistar Overeem tried to make the NSAC believe that his injectable application of steroids was accidental.
David Chenoff, the defense attorney for Alistar Overeem, is experienced in defending prominent sportspersons.
The defense attorney called the personal physician of his client to testify during the appeal. It was believed that Dr. Molina would testify in defense for his patient. Testimonies of this health care provider were too miserable. The physician Molina provided an explanation for recommendations of certain medications that led to Overeem’s elevated testosterone: epitestosterone ratio.
The treating doctor of Alistar Overeem acknowledged that he directed and injected this athlete with a mixture of Toradol and Dexamethasone because he had an injury. Actually, these products are administered for anti-inflammatory purposes. But application of testosterone for recovery from injuries is not approved by the FDA.
It is supposed that the doctor Molina hasn’t warned his patient that these remedies contain the anabolic steroid testosterone. But it is obviously that he has never asked about it.
So, testimonies of Dr. Molina turned out to manifest lack of the evidence linked with therapeutic purposes for administration of prohibited medications by Alistar Overeem. The doctor couldn’t present any reasonable explanation which could justify recommendations of Toradol and Dexamethasone to this athlete. Testimonies of the health care provider Molina worked against Alistar Overeem.
Actually, it became evident that Alistar Overeem was a victim of the doctor’s quack.
But it is possible to suggest that this strategy was designed by the defense attorney for this athlete.
Pat Lundval, a commissioner, was probably impressed by the defense of Overeem. She even called him a “smart guy”.
The members of the NSAC seemed to be convinced that Overeem has been really a great guy but he has surrounded himself with such questionable individuals, as Dr. Moline. They recommended him to find more qualified professionals in the future.
